The Friends of the Huntsville Public Library was founded in 2006 for the purpose
of promoting the library and assisting the library staff. The Friends organize special
events centered around the holidays or the changing seasons. They have hosted Halloween
costume contests, a Christmas tea, summer nature activities, puppet shows, and patriotic-themed
programs, as well as, participating in Kids Night at the Western Roundup Days. They
often provide refreshments for library events and organize children crafts activities.
Their recent Book Sale successfully raised enough money to buy a bicycle rack for
the front of the library. Ongoing fundraisers will assist in purchasing furnishings
for the Children’s Room, and will assist with other library needs determined by
the Friends and the Library Director.
The Friends meet on the 1st Thursday at 5:00 pm in the Library. New members are
always welcome! For more information, call the library.
