The Friends of the Berryville Public Library was founded in the early 1980’s to
help the library buy books, newspapers and to purchase items for the Summer Reading
Program. Programs and book talks were a big part of the Friends activities in the
1990’s, but because of time constraints and low event attendance, the group decided
to focus their efforts on fundraising activities including Book and Bake Sales which
are held quarterly with Valentine’s Day and Thanksgiving sales being the biggest.
Though small in number, when called upon to help with any library function, the
Berryville Friends come through. There are no formal meetings, but, anyone interested
in assisting with many worthwhile library projects should contact the Library Director.
